Session 7
Short description of the session:
This session is focused on designing the advertisement and preparing all the details for the next session when the commercial will be recorded.
Materials needed:
Task 1: Brainstorm ideas about the commercial by using the “snowball” activity. First of all, students have to write down on a paper: a location + main characters (must be objects due to image rights) + short situation or plot. The follow-up activity consists of sharing their ideas: first with a partner to make a “remix” or choose one of the ideas, then in groups of 4, then in groups of 8 and finally talk about the final idea.
with the whole group, presenting the ideas they have agreed with their group of 8.
Purpose: brainstorm ideas for the commercial with an impact on building positive confidence and self-esteem.
Allotted time: 30’
Grouping: pairs - groups of 4 - groups of 8 - whole class
Verification: by assembling the last 3 collaborative proposals, students will have an understanding of their task.
Task 2: Create “expert groups” to distribute tasks for creating the commercial. Each student decides which group fits better with his/her interests or skills and reach agreements in case there is bicker.
Purpose: to distribute tasks and promote entrepreneurship skills
Allotted time: 10’
Grouping: 5 experts groups (5 students in each)
Verification: The teacher walks around and checks all groups to understand what is required for them to do.
Task 3: Once the groups are done, they meet separately and start doing the tasks they need in order to have finished for the next session.
Purpose: to organize their participation and involvement in the advertisement recording, according to the assigned function.
Allotted time: 30’
Grouping: 5 experts groups (5 students in each)
Verification: outline or planning of each groups’ tasks.
Closure:
Each group explains what they will do during the next sessions so that everyone knows their role and assigned tasks. They also decide who is in charge of bringing some extra-materials, if this applies.
